Margareta is the mother of five children. Her husband came to the U.S. several years ago, and the family still owes a financial debt to the coyote who he traveled with. As a result of this debt, the family lost their land which was one of the few things they owned. Meanwhile the husband is not able to send money home due to the stateside economy and lack of jobs. Margareta’s sister and her children are also living in this house, which makes the total family size of 17.
Margareta’s youngest son has a club foot, which a surgical NP, Children of the Americas, will operate on in January as a donation of care. Meanwhile, Finding Freedom through Friendship has arranged for a months worth of food to be purchased and delivered to this family by early next week.
