This was our happy time: before Covid, prior to social distancing, long before anyone dreamed of a rapid, devastating world wide economic decline. A time when we were in our element of assisting marginalized women in Egypt and Guatemala with nutrition, housing, education and micro business development. The pandemic hit weeks before our CFO, Marguerite Doyle, had to cancel her trip to Egypt to oversee the highly successful work taking place in our Egyptian Woman’s Development Center. While most of our programs were unable to function, it quickly became apparent that the nutritional component of FFF was the most urgently needed.

We are, along with most of the world’s citizens, traveling down a different path then we were a few months ago. Long term organizational goals have become short term goals…our priority is keeping women and children from slipping from hunger into chronic malnutrition. We continue to offer hope, inspiration and support, but it is packageddifferently. It comes in the form of corn to make tortillas, beans for protein, oatmeal for vital nutrients and rice. Mother’s Day gifts come in different looking packages this year, but they may be some of the most important presents we have ever given to our participants.
